Letter to Mum

The final project that I created for printmaking when I was in Polytechnic University — Letter to Mum 2007

I created this set of envelope to answer the brief, started from the font / type that we are impressed or related to.

When I was a kid I used to write mum some letters. As I did not have enough pocket money or did not know how to buy stamps, I had to put somewhere secretive at home to let her discover it with some hints naturally. That's a really sweet memory between me and my mum.

The font of the address on the evelopes are pretending my childhood handwriting which is untidy and big.

The stamps at the right hand corners rae lithography. They are 4 spots that I used to put my letters for mum 1) letter box 2) the 2-decked bed with a manual fan 3) the old Hong Kong style stove for cooking 4) the fence and hangers for drying towel and clothes

Inside the envelopes I put the experiments I had done during the lessons. They include lithography, gravure printing and screen printing
